The truth was, I needed to test the product over the weekend while I sat safely in my home, as opposed to waiting to take the product for the first time on a Monday morning. Sigh. I needed to know what would happen.
I threw on my overcoat and jetted out the door to the corner store. I picked up products, looking at labels, looking for something with at least 15 grams of fat in it. Then I found it: chocolate cupcakes. I grinned. “I’ll take these!” I told the man behind the cash register.
Once I got home, I wolfed down both cupcakes in a matter of minutes, taking the Alli diet pill after consuming the first cake. Then I waited. And waited. An hour went by. Then two. Then four. Surely, I’d be running to the bathroom within seconds. But nothing happened.
** Day Two
I woke up and had my coffee. It was only Sunday, so I still had some time to be sick, if that were to happen. But I felt no sudden urges to run to the toilet, until my regular time after my coffee. I’ll spare you the details, but there were no surprises, which meant I could concentrate on monitoring my waistline. Fantastic!
** Day Three
It was Monday, my first day out of the house, taking the Alli diet pill on the go.
I sat in the cafeteria with a colleague during lunchtime, but first, I rummaged the food buffet. ‘What would I have today,’ I pondered. No question I would usually have a chicken salad, but I had Alli (I stuck my chest out as if I were Wonder Woman). ‘Nah. For the pill to work right, I had to eat like I normally ate… But today they had meatballs and pasta. I’ve got to try it!’ So I did.
At the table, talking with my friend, we talked about me taking the pill and her wanting to try it, but was too afraid. “No problem. I’ll be your guinea pig. In fact, I’m going to take it for 30 days and I’m keeping a ‘dietary’ journal,” I said.
I reached into my bag and popped a diet pill after three bites of pasta and meatballs. I didn’t expect anything to happen right after that. But I’ll be sure to take one at dinner.
