Do you remember being a teen girl, maybe 14, 15 years old? How often could you be found hiding your face behind too much foundation, your hair over your eyes, trying to hide the bane of your current existence? It was the dreaded pimple, and while one could ruin your week, many of us had to suffer from a few dozen covering what should have been our youthful, glowing skin.
Acne is a horrifying, embarrassing problem as a teenager. But what about as an adult? It can feel like there is nothing to do for it, and if you have tried using some of the products targeted at pubescent consumers, you have probably had a lot of experience to back that opinion up. But there are actually a few products out there that are great for adult skin, no matter the age, and my all time favorite happens to be the Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel.
I know that when I think of Mary Kay, I tend to think of cheerful, middle-aged women in gaudy pantsuits, with heavy leather bags filled with mostly unnecessary potions for all occasions in their enormous, pink Cadillacs. I realized this was an unfair stereotype about the time I discovered this acne gel. It forced me to grudgingly concede the fact that I may have misjudged Ms. Mary, and I still feel that slight twinge of shame every time I dab this little miracle-in-a-tube on my now quite clear skin.
Now, what I love about this product is the fact that it genuinely works on post-teen skin. Over the years, I have searched for an over the counter ointment that did this, and I had had no real luck. In fact, a lot of the big brand names made my problems worst, drying out my skin, and leaving me with more pockmarks then ever.
None of this was a problem with the Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel. I picked up a tube for $7.00, started applying it at night after my baths, and it was less than a week when I started to see real results. Not only does it work on it’s own, without the rest of the Mary Kay product line in tow, but also it didn’t make my skin flake (a rare occurrence for me, a tragically dry skin type). It didn’t even have any of the other horrible little problems of other acne gels, such as a strong smell, or an oily texture.
All in all, the Mary Kay Acne Gel is a real winner for any skin type. One tube will last a long while, as it only needs to be lightly dabbed on trouble spots to really work, and because you use so little, it’s unlikely to cause any damaging side effects. For $7.00, you couldn’t possibly ask for more, and so I give it my official seal of approval. All you ladies with serious (or even mild) adult acne will love this stuff.
